An exciting custom, and a very memorable one, there will definitely be more pictures to accompany this one. Mi TWiN had another Famous New Orleans Secondline, and orange was one of their colors. I’m not sure what the other options were, or why I had chosen these to use, but I was set on them, and even though time wasn’t on my side I justJust as someone goes inside of a gallery and they admire artists for their work, and or ultimately trying to see what the artists was thinking or where their inspiration might have come from, so I’ll be really honest on this one, it’s memorably funny.
So, this was my first time taking the Kel Kelz Crystals to a pair of hightop pair of Shell toe Adidas and they honestly took way longer than expected. I am a 5.5 GS and the side just felt larger than ever – which is another great reason why I wanted to only do in house customs and for those I knew because trial and error with research and development is definitely needed, and that’s not something that I want to happen on any of my actual customers. I needed to know about how long it would take, and about how many crystals it would take to actually cover separate sections of the shoe. Time was definitely running out, and only one shoe was actually completed. I received one phone call telling me finished or not, I’m late and need to be present ASAP ASAP ASAP!
This is the picture of the second shoe that wasn’t completed, and after that phone call I literally threw the crystals on the shoe, letting them now look like Honeycombs, because I didn’t realize that the opposite side was silver, and they accidentally gave a special appeal to the shoe that i didn’t even expect. The other shoe was finished but I tried to make it look like this – not so much – but “exclusive” none the less was the goal achieved. There were matching laces that went with these as well, but in such a rush, pictures weren’t even an option or a thought. The other point was that I needed to see how my shoes would hold up in a Secondline, which can be lightly described as a parade. So picture a lot of people, a lot of walking, dancing, and the mess that a parade leaves behind, and I needed to see my shoes participate through all of those elements.
This picture is the aftermath of that day, and I was proud to see the outcome. I had neutral expectations, because being on the drawing board perfecting my techniques I keep going until I get to witness what works. The spikes were a cool addition, nothing dramatic, a normal size, so it’s not something that makes a statement since it is now being overshadowed by the popping elements of the Sunkist Honeycomb highlight adorned on the sides of the shoe, and the toebox. I did come back to these afterwards and added a Royal Purple on the same large elements as the Orange but on the insides of the shoe. Afterwards I did a video I’ll need to post, but once done, I felt as though they were amazing, but plain. Plain works because they will last and the work gives that ONE in Emilien WOW! factor sought after, but I love to get more creative. I’ve been challenged since then, and I’m looking forward to seeing what challenge you have in mind with your next ORDER.
